Comparison

Reach + Within and WriteUpp

A factual comparison for UK practices, dated October 2026, using WriteUpp’s public pricing page and our UK price.

Checked October 2026.

This comparison was checked in October 2026 against WriteUpp’s public pricing page at https://www.writeupp.com/pricing and against the Reach + Within pages linked below. It is a factual note for a UK practice choosing software. It is not a review score, and it does not use WriteUpp’s logo.

WriteUpp is an established clinical-notes and practice product used by therapists and allied-health professionals. Reach + Within is practice software that joins the enquiry, the clinical record, bookings and billing. Therapists and group practices in the United Kingdom pay from £60 a month per clinician. Admin, finance and management users are free. Rehabs and treatment centres are quoted separately. There is no public rehab price on either side of this comparison from us.

What WriteUpp published

On 4 October 2026 the WriteUpp pricing page showed more than one currency. In US dollars it listed Flex from $34.95 a month, Solo at $49 a month ($59 a month without Stripe), a further figure of $80 a month, and Group from $79 a month for two or more clinicians. In pounds and euros it also showed £49.95 a month for one clinician user, and online booking at £4.95. The page mixed dollar, pound and euro amounts in one document. We are not mapping every pound figure to a plan name beyond what that page stated in plain text, and we are not adding a per-extra-user price we did not reconfirm.

Those are WriteUpp’s published numbers, not ours. Check the page again before you buy, because vendors change prices.

What Reach + Within publishes for the UK

The UK price is from £60 a month per clinician, for Reach and Within together. Reach is enquiries, onboarding, the calendar, invoices, statements and aged balances. Within is the client file: assessment, treatment plan, session and group notes, and documents. If the client consents, Assist drafts a session note from a recording. The clinician reviews, edits and signs. Assist does not diagnose and does not sign.

Also included: role-based access, an audit trail, secure family report links for an approved report, and PA booking and billing. Sign-in with a second factor is coming soon. The PA cannot open the clinical note. Outcome scales are coming soon. We do not claim a live link to Sage or Xero, and we do not claim two-way calendar sync. Client data is hosted in the EU (Netherlands). We do not claim a certification. Compliance still depends on the practice.

The trial for therapists and group practices is 30 days, with demo clients, and no card. Nothing charges automatically at the end. You can export.

Where WriteUpp is a better fit

Choose WriteUpp if you want a notes-led product whose public page, on the day we checked, showed a one-clinician price of £49.95 a month, below our £60, and if that product already matches how you write. Choose it if you are comfortable reading a pricing page that also quotes US dollars and euros, and if you do not need a rehab or treatment-centre workflow. A solo therapist who wants the lower published pound figure for a single clinician user, and who already likes WriteUpp’s templates, should trial WriteUpp rather than stretch to a system built with group practices and residential programmes in mind.

Where Reach + Within is a better fit

Choose Reach + Within if the problem is typing the same person into a diary, a notes file and an invoice. The enquiry, the record and the bill are one client. A group practice can give the front desk bookings and billing without giving them the note. A rehab or treatment centre running residential and outpatient programmes for substance use and mental health services can request a quote instead of using the per-clinician figure.

If recording and a drafted note are part of the decision, read AI session notes and the consent guide. The draft is not the record until you sign it.

How to decide

List the jobs you do every week: enquiries, notes, diary, invoices, and whether anyone else may see the note. Price the seat you will actually pay, including booking add-ons, in one currency. WriteUpp’s page did not stay in one currency when we read it. Our UK pricing page does. South African pricing is published on its own page and is not repeated here.

Then use a trial with demo clients, export something, and see whether you can leave. The longer checklist, which names other vendors as well, is how to choose practice management software. Feature detail is on features and clinical notes software.
