Reach + Within and Power Diary

Power Diary now publishes the product as Zanda. This page is for people still searching the old name. It does not repeat fees.

Checked October 2026.

This comparison was written in October 2026 for practices searching for Power Diary. Power Diary now publishes the product as Zanda. Older Power Diary web addresses still lead to that product, including pages aimed at the UK and at South Africa. We are not describing two systems. We are describing the product people still call Power Diary, under the name on its current site, and putting it next to Reach + Within.

The dated check of Zanda’s UK pricing page, including what we did and did not see on it, is on Reach + Within and Zanda. This page does not repeat fees. Confirm the current offer on Zanda’s own site before you buy, and confirm ours on the pricing page for your country.

Zanda, formerly Power Diary, is practice management for health practitioners: a calendar, online booking, clinical notes, invoices, reminders, telehealth and a client portal, as their public feature pages describe. Reach + Within is practice software for therapists, group practices, and rehabs and treatment centres. Reach is the front office. Within is the clinical record.

What their public pages describe

Zanda’s UK feature pages, read in October 2026, describe a calendar with recurring appointments and more than one location, invoices raised from the session, online booking, a client portal, telehealth, reminders, and clinical note templates including diagrams such as body charts. They describe scored forms that track progress. They describe calendar sync with outside calendars. They describe a route for moving existing records in, and they say you can export.

That is a mature allied-health and counselling diary. A counsellor who wants clients to book their own time, receive a reminder, join a video call and pay from a portal is looking at a product that publishes those steps as present, not as a promise. We do not claim a client portal of that kind, and we do not claim two-way calendar sync as a finished integration. If those are the jobs that hurt this year, Zanda is the serious candidate and you should trial it.

Their pages also speak to counsellors, psychotherapists and allied health, not only to one profession. A group practice can put more than one practitioner on the calendar. Admin users are discussed on their plans. Check the current plan for how admin access works, and test whether a receptionist can invoice without opening the note. Do not take our paragraph as their permission model.

We did not treat their security pages as a UK GDPR certificate or a POPIA certificate. Ask where the client record is hosted and what transfer terms apply. Reach + Within hosts client data in the EU (Netherlands) and does not claim a certification either. Hosting in the EU is explained for UK practices in EU hosting and UK GDPR. South African practices should read POPIA and therapy notes and still take their own advice.

What Reach + Within is for

The week we built for is the enquiry, the clinical file and the invoice on one client. A new enquiry has an owner and a next step. When the person is admitted or taken on, the Within file opens with what Reach already holds. The note lives there. The booking and the invoice point at the same person. A PA can book and bill and cannot open the note, even with a direct link.

You can write the note yourself. Where the client has agreed, Assist drafts from the recording. The clinician reviews, edits and signs. Assist does not diagnose and it does not sign. Recording without consent is not a feature. The checklist is recording and consent.

Outcome scales include PHQ-9, GAD-7, AUDIT, AUDIT-C, K10, WHO-5, PCL-5 and DUDIT, by secure link or on a check-in iPad, scored and charted. The public calculators at PHQ-9, GAD-7 and AUDIT are a screening tool, not a diagnosis, and they store nothing. They are not a substitute for the scales inside a client file.

Role-based access and an audit trail that nobody can edit or delete are part of the product. Sign-in with a second factor is coming soon. We say that here so a practice that needs the second factor today does not hear it for the first time after a demo.

Rehabs and treatment centres are quoted. The record for that work includes admissions, nursing, an eMAR, family reports and an inspection pack. It is described on rehab software for the UK and rehab software in South Africa. It is not a counselling diary with a bed count typed into a note.

The trial is 30 days, with demo clients, and no card, for therapists, group practices and treatment centres. Use it on fictional clients. Export before you commit.

Where Power Diary, now Zanda, is the better fit

Choose Zanda if you want the diary-led practice they publish: online booking, reminders, a client portal, telehealth and invoices raised from the appointment, with note templates a clinic can shape. Choose it if calendar sync and a client who can reschedule online are the requirements you will miss on Monday morning. Choose it if you are an allied-health clinic, or a counselling practice that already thinks in appointments first and notes second, and you do not need a residential treatment record.

Choose it if you have already learned Power Diary and the product you log into is now Zanda. Retraining a whole team to change logos inside the same product is a different decision from moving the clinical record. Stay if the week works.

A South African practice comparing local booking tools should also read Reach + Within and Bookem. This page does not fold Bookem into Zanda. They are different products.

Where Reach + Within is the better fit

Choose Reach + Within if the enquiry is where work is lost: someone emails, nobody owns the next step, and the clinical file starts blank. Choose it if the front desk must invoice without being able to read the session. Choose it if outcome scores, a signed note and the invoice need to be the same client, and if you want that tested in a trial with demo clients rather than described in a brochure.

Choose it if the practice is, or may become, a treatment centre. The quote path is for programmes with beds, nursing and families. A solo counsellor should not buy that story. A solo counsellor should buy the enquiry, the note and the invoice, and ignore the ward.

How to decide

Run one fictional week in each trial. Make an enquiry, book a session, write a note, invoice, and export. In Zanda, book as the client would, through the portal, if that is the step you care about. In Reach + Within, try to open the note as the PA. The product that fails the step you actually do is the wrong one, even if the other steps are polished.

The UK roundup is best practice management software for therapists. The South African roundup is best practice software in South Africa. Counsellors who searched the category rather than the old brand can start at counselling software.
